Rainbet's NIP jersey deal, explained

Ninjas in Pyjamas, one of esports' oldest organisations, put Rainbet's name on its Counter-Strike 2 jersey in May 2025. Sponsorship deals like this are how crypto casinos buy legitimacy by association. Whether the legitimacy is earned is a separate question.

What happened

Rainbet became NIP's main jersey partner starting May 2025, first worn by the org's Counter-Strike 2 roster, announced via a LinkedIn post from NIP's Fabio Fusco. Rainbet has also been described as running a distributed influencer marketing network concentrated on X/Twitter football communities, per an Investigations.org report.

Why this matters more than a normal sponsorship

A jersey patch signals stability and staying power to an esports fanbase that skews young and online. It's the same playbook Stake ran with the Sauber F1 team and Everton. The difference is the regulatory picture underneath the logo. A widely shared thread describes Rainbet's Anjouan licensing jurisdiction as an unproven regulator that relaunched selling licences in 2023, a considerably thinner foundation than Stake's Curacao licence or a tier-one regulator.

The takeaway

Sponsorship spend is a marketing signal, not a regulatory one. It tells you an operator has money to spend on visibility. It tells you nothing about how they'll handle your withdrawal. See our Curacao licence guide for the regulatory side of this comparison.
